The Market Supervision Administration of Jiangsu and the Jiangsu Development & Reform Commission recently announced Jiangsu’s standardization pilot project for 2023. The “standardization pilot project of high-speed efficient drive equipment for steam turbines” by Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Gear Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NGC, was selected as part of this wider project, showing the role the company is playing as a pathfinder in standardization.

The aforesaid drive equipment for steam turbines is used in steam turbine equipment in various fields, such as electric power, oil & gas, and chemical engineering, in order to support the development of more efficient, reliable and intelligent steam turbine equipment. At the very beginning, the R&D and manufacture of Chinese high-power high-speed gearboxes lagged behind those made in the West, both in terms of power level and performance. In recent years, the company has completed 50-plus patented scientific research and development projects based on the requirements of market development. It has been awarded 336 patents, including 41 invention patents. The company has also developed a number of products of an internationally advanced level, displaying great potential in the global market, and has been involved in 20-plus national and provincial projects. 46 new products developed independently by the company have also been certified as new products at provincial level, 4 of which have been accredited as the first (set) in the province. It has led and participated in the establishment of 20-plus national and industry standards.
