The 5th Wind Power O&M and Retrofitting Seminar, jointly hosted by Polaris and the China Electric Equipment Management Association, was grandly held in Beijing on March 10–11, 2026. As a leading name in the wind energy transmission sector, Nanjing High Speed Gear Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (NGC) was invited to attend. Wang Fudong, Senior Manager of the Wind Energy Aftermarket Business Unit, delivered a featured presentation titled “Protecting the Core of Transmission, Driving a Better Future,” providing a comprehensive overview of NGC’s full lifecycle operation and maintenance service system. Thanks to its strong capabilities and technological innovations, NGC was honored with two awards at the event: “Outstanding O&M Service Provider” and “Excellent Case in Retrofitting and Upgrading.”

China’s wind energy industry has entered a new phase of “value-based competition,” centered on technological innovation and lean operations. Challenges such as performance degradation in aging turbines and insufficient O&M efficiency have become major bottlenecks hindering high-quality development. This seminar focused on addressing these pain points and fostering a collaborative innovation platform, with an emphasis on policy trends, technological advancement, and efficiency improvement—injecting fresh momentum into the upgrading of the wind power O&M and retrofitting market.
Protecting the Core of Transmission

In his presentation, Wang Fudong elaborated on NGC's strategic coverage and practical achievements in the wind energy aftermarket through three main sections: "Our Footprint," "Our Expertise," and "Our Future Plans." In terms of "Our Footprint," NGC has continuously expanded its service network across China and the rest of the world, staying true to its commitment of providing service wherever it operates. This has enabled the company to establish a global rapid-response service system. In terms of "Our Expertise," the company leverages its specialized service infrastructure to fully integrate mechanical gearboxes with digital technology. It has made steady progress in building full-scenario maintenance capabilities, both in-tower and on the ground. Additionally, NGC has developed enhanced replacement units, set up service application platforms, and improved its training systems, using core technologies to reinforce its service foundation. As for "Our Vision," NGC is focused on advancing intelligent operations and maintenance. Through technological advancements and innovative models, the company aims to "see further and move with greater stability," offering customers more forward-looking, full-lifecycle solutions.

Winner of Two Accolades
With years of expert engagement in the wind energy transmission sector, NGC has consistently driven service upgrades through technological innovation. The newly selected project, “Innovative Repair Technology for Wind Turbine Gearbox Journal Wear – Application and Research of Metal Repair Agents,” stands as a prime example of the company’s technological transformation efforts. Targeting the persistent issue of gearbox journal wear, this technology optimizes the use of metal repair agents to enable fast, cost-effective repairs, significantly reducing downtime-related losses. This offers a replicable and scalable model for wind energy operation and maintenance innovation. Meanwhile, the “Excellent Operation and Maintenance Service Provider” award reflects the industry’s high recognition of NGC’s comprehensive service capabilities, underscoring its vital role in the wind energy aftermarket.

To date, NGC has delivered over 125,000 main gearboxes to more than 30 countries and regions, achieving continuous breakthroughs in core technologies such as plain bearings. The impressive presence at this seminar, along with the two accolades it received, are not only a recognition of the company’s past achievements but also a sign of expectations for its future growth.
Moving forward, NGC will continue to uphold its commitment to innovation and further refine its integrated service system, covering all aspects of R&D, production, and maintenance. With smarter technologies and more comprehensive services, the company aims to safeguard the core of wind energy transmission, support the industry’s high‑quality leap forward during the 15th Five‑Year Plan period, and contribute China’s manufacturing strength to the global energy transition.
