The first self-developed & manufactured vertical double planetary gear reducer of Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Gear (Group) Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Nanjing High Accurate), a subsidiary of Nanjing High Accurate Drive Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as NGC) was installed and commissioned in Nanchang Yadong Cement Co., Ltd, and was officially put into used in June, 2010. The gear reducer runs quite well since the day it was put into operation. The type of this reducer is MLX360S, with input power of 2700kw, input speed of 990r/min and output speed of 19.14r/min.
At present, bevel gears of Klingelnberg type (or Gleason type) with big diameter and big tooth width used in heavy-duty gear reducers for vertical loading and power transmitting are relied on importation from foreign companies, and are normally with high price and long delivery time. This has a very bad influence on the development of such gear reducers in China. People have been concerning about how to increase input torque and transmission ratio, reduce size and cost of such reducers by making smaller the diameter and tooth width of Klingelnberg bevel gears (or Gleason bevel gears).
To solve these problems, Nanjing High Accurate developed independently this vertical double planetary gear reducer, which is with input bevel gear pair of much smaller diameter and tooth width, with transmission ratio and output torque greatly increased, and with overall size and weight decreased. Therefore, this gear reducer is featured with large power, big ratio, high torque transmission and small size, etc.
The vertical double planetary gear reducer developed by Nanjing High Accurate won the national utility models patent in August, 2008. Thrust bearings used in this reducer won the national invention patent in November, 2008, and in November, 2009, this vertical double planetary gear reducer was appraised as new product by Jiangsu Economic and Trade Commission. The appraisal commission agrees that the gear reducer reaches world advanced level and fills the blank in China.
The successful development of MLX360S gear reducer is another big improvement of replacing imported equipment by domestically made ones. Nanjing High Accurate has received orders for more than 10 sets of such gear reducers at this moment.
